Microsoft has announced that the Xbox cloud console will be a very long time before released

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has revealed that the company’s Xbox game streaming console is now “years away.” Speaking at The Wall Street Journal’s Tech Live conference yesterday, Spencer discussed the Xbox game streaming device, Keystone, that we saw appear on his shelf recently.

According to Spencer, the Keystone codename was given to a project being developed in the bowels of the company — a budget streaming console that doesn’t offer local gameplay, connects to a TV, and aims to stream games for Xbox. At the end of spring, the company decided to cooperate with Samsung – the South Korean manufacturer’s TVs have a service for streaming games for Xbox, and Spencer still has one prototype console on the shelf.

Although Microsoft initially revealed plans to launch a streaming console last year, Spencer himself has said one is likely to come, but that it will be “years away”. It is not yet known why the company refused to implement the idea quickly. Some do not rule out that this is due to the size of the future console. If the Keystone looks more like a smaller version of the Xbox Series S, then other similar TV boxes like the Google Chromecast are slightly larger than USB sticks plugged into HDMI ports. Many expected that the company’s device would have approximately the same dimensions.

Xbox Head Phil Spencer shared information about the device during a live Interview with The Wall Street Journal. According to the executive it was being developed as recently as spring. However, the company changed its course when it started working with Samsung. To recall, upcoming Samsung TVs will soon bring Xbox Cloud Gaming straight out of the box. The executive states that they will probably launch an Xbox Dongle in the future, but for now, it is years and years away.
