Xbox Cloud Gaming might soon be free to use

Late last year, it made the service available to Game Pass Premium and Essentials members, after previously being exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, its highest-tier Xbox subscription. And now, Microsoft might be opening Xbox Cloud Gaming access even further, with plans to offer free, ad-supported access.

The internal version Microsoft has been testing caps sessions at one hour, with up to five hours free per month. Because it's ad-supported, each session reportedly starts with about two minutes of ads before you can play for free.

Gaming is becoming a much more expensive hobby than it used to be. Microsoft has confirmed it's testing an ad-supported Xbox Cloud Gaming experience, though it hasn't shared any specific details or a launch date yet.
